rube Goldberg project
We made a rube Goldberg machine, it had ten steps. Our end goal was to ring a bell. Step one1 the marble rolls down the double screw. Step two the marble hits another marble up an incline plane. Step tree the marble falls into a cup. Step four the pulley system is pulled down. Step five the pulley pulls up a lever. Step six a ball rolls down the raised lever. Step seven the ball rolls down an incline plane and pushes a wedge that bumps a marble down the funnel. Step eight the marble goes though the funnel to another incline plane. Step nine the marble rolls down the second incline plane and bumps into another marble. Step ten they both go down the ramp and ring the bell.

In our Rube Goldberg machine we used many equations we learned this year, for example In step one we found the mechanical advantage of the screw or in step four we calculated the force of the marble pushing down the pulley system. In a lot of our steps we found the Mechanical Advantage in a lot of our steps. To find mechanical advantage which is input distance over output distance. In other steps we found force which is mass times acceleration and the acceleration we used was gravity which is 9.8 meters per second.
I feel my group and I did really well on the project, but we had some challenges along the way. One of the "pits" of our experiment was that we couldn't move onto another step until we perfected it, which was good, but we wasted so much time on one step, in particular the pulley's we spent at least 4 class days working on them. One of the "peaks" of our project was that we got along and we didn't fight. Also we worked together really well, especially when we were doing our presentations it felt like a well oiled train. Another "pit" was that we didn't organize our priorities so we finished really late and almost didn't finish, that is something I want to work on for next time. Finally our last "peak" was that our rube Goldberg machine work nine out of the ten times.
