Physic of sports project
In this project we learned the physics of shooting an arrow. We look at many concepts. Also we talked about how you could possibly your archery game better. We shot from 10 meters away and we shot at a 2 by 2 foot target.
Some of the major Concepts we looked at were
Reflection
I felt like the project went very well. Also I feel that are video turned out to be one of the videos. One of the "pits" we had was that we just "ran with it without inspecting the path" what I mean by that is we just went for it and didn't do any prior research. One of the pits was that everybody in my group got along with each other so we were all very collaborative. Our second pit was in the beginning we only brought one arrow and we lost it on the second day. Our second peak was how we got it done so fast and how we had fun with it.
Some of the major Concepts we looked at were
- Impulse is Force x Time it is measured in Newton seconds. It was used to find the impulse of the arrow hitting the target
- Velocity is Distance / by Time it is measured in seconds square. It was used to find the speed in the direction of the arrow
- Work is Force x Distance it is measured in Joules. It was used to find out how much energy it carried in that distance
- Kinetic energy 1/2 x mass x velocity squared it is measured in Joules It was used to find how much energy the arrow was carrying when it flew.
- Momentum Mass x Velocity it is measured in Newton seconds It was used to find out how much momentum the arrow was carrying
- Force is mass x acceleration it is measured in Newton's. It was used to find out how much pressure was on the target
