Cardboard Chairs
Cardboard Chairs
For the cardboard chair project we had to make a chair entirely out of cardboard with nothing else. We made a chair for a kindergartener it was a 8 inch tall seat and it could support 50 pounds. We made three frames and put them together with about 50 struts that had slits in them to connect the cardboard together. Also we had put seat covers to make it more comfortable for the user and we angled the back a little so it was more comfortable. We had 4 thing we could focus on for our chair athstetics, structure, economy, and stability. We mainly focused on structure and stability because its always better to have a chair that works than a chair the looks pretty. You can tell our chair is not the prettiest but if we had more time it would have looked nicer. Economy wasn't the biggest issue either, but we still kept our chair to part of a mirror shipping box.

Reflection
This project was really fun and I would do it again in a heartbeat. One "pit" we had was that it only supported 50 pounds an that was because we cut the whole in the center, next time I would have left the center in to have more stability. One "peak" we had, we finished quickly and still had a couple of days before the project was done because we buckled down and worked. Our second "pit" we didn't think it out well who was going to bring the cardboard so we had to scavenge for card board around the class room, then finally I brought in a box. our second "peak" was the project was really fun to do. This project might have been my second favorite project next to building a band.
